CPAP High Leak: What to Check
Quick answer
A high-leak message can come from mask fit, a loose tubing connection, or a humidifier tub or side cover that is not seated correctly. Check the external parts named in the model guide and ask your provider for guidance if the leak continues.
Check the mask
Refit the mask according to its own user guide. Use the device's Mask Fit function when available. This equipment guide does not make patient-specific treatment recommendations.
Check tubing and humidifier connections
Confirm the air tubing is firmly connected at both ends. If your device has a humidifier tub or side cover, verify that it is correctly inserted and not visibly cracked or damaged.
If the leak continues
Stop guessing at settings and contact your CPAP equipment provider or care provider. Do not open the device or change prescribed pressure to hide a leak.
