Bosch Mini Split E1 Error Code

What E1 means

E1 means a communication error between the indoor and outdoor units on Bosch Climate 5000 systems - the indoor control received no feedback from the outdoor unit for 110 seconds, four times in a row. Power cycle once (2-3 minutes off); if E1 returns it is normally the indoor-outdoor control wiring, electromagnetic interference, or a control board - all technician work. The same fault is EL 01 on Gen 3 and E2 on a multi-zone outdoor board.

1. 1. One-time fault event (power disturbance or transient sensor reading) common DIY

2. 2. Fault persists after a clean reset occasional pro only

   Check: If the code returns immediately or every session, note the conditions (startup, heating, after rain).

   Fix: A persisting code points at the component the manual assigns to this code — that repair is technician territory.
